Job Description:

International manufacturer of industrial induction heating equipment has an entry to mid-level position for a proven problem-solver capable of working in groups, as well as independently. Field Service Engineer/ Electrical Technician - serves as a company representative for field installations, troubleshooting, service calls and preventative maintenance at customer facilities located in North and South America. Major duties include building, testing, and repairing induction units in-house, also providing field service and technical assistance to customers in the areas of installation, testing, start-up, maintenance, repair and training of induction generators and brazing tools at customer location. A typical service trip is 2-3 days.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Experience with high power, RF, and micro-processors preferred.
  • Electrical/electronic background (must be able to read electrical schematics).
  • Skilled in PLC Logic: Mitsubishi PLC, A-B Software, and Siemens PLC preferred but not required.
  • Temperature control integration, temperature profiling and PID understanding preferred.
  • Experience using oscilloscope, pyrometers and multi-meters
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must with the ability to be flexible to adjust to changing field conditions.
  • Able to perform both independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Troubleshooting and field wiring skills.
  • Able to train and supervise others.

Education:

  • Associates Degree in Electrical Field preferred or 2 – 3 years’ experience in a direct hands-on electrical service environment. Licensing preferred, but not required.
  • Advanced technical education or combination of education, computer skills and experience in closely related equipment requiring the same skill sets will be considered.

Other:

  • All positions require up to 50% travel with the opportunity for some international travel (Passport required).
  • Valid State Driver’s License/Reliable Transportation & valid Social Security Number
  • Able to pass a Criminal Background Check & drug test
  • Strong mathematics background.
  • Possess verifiable references
  • Ability to keep daily records, such as customer correspondence, expenses and travel schedule

The Inside Sales Engineer is responsible for supporting and enabling the growth of new sales across all company product and service offerings, as well as supporting outside sales staff as needed. Outside technical sales experience preferred. Opportunities for growth and career development within the technical sales organization.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Prepare customer correspondence and presentations, including quotations and proposals. Organizational skills a must!
  • Administrative functions, including processing new orders and preparing quotations.
  • Market Research to develop new customer potentials, including analyze market conditions, survey customer requirements using Market analytics and search skills
  • Assist Marketing Group as needed (e.g. mailings and mail merges, email blasts, etc.)
  • Work with and support Outside Sales Personnel from eldec’s office as needed

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • College degree required, preferably in a technical field.
  • Good communication skills: flexible, likeable, team player
  • Computer skills: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and web search skills.
  • Previous CRM Experience preferred (not required)
  • Process engineering or metallurgical experience is a plus
  • Technical writing experience preferred

The Outside Sales Engineer – Auburn Hills, MI is responsible for supporting and enabling the growth of new sales across all company product and service offerings. Ideal candidate will have experience in the brazing & heating industry. Growth will be accomplished through prospecting, qualifying, and shaping new sales opportunities, assisting in responses for business development opportunities, and coordinating sales efforts with inside sales resources. This position would be based in our Auburn Hills, MI office with significant travel to visit customers (up to 3 or 4 days per week).

Essential Job Functions:

  • Generate sales with new and existing account targets
  • Identify prospective customers by using business directories, following leads from existing clients, participating in organizations and clubs, and attending trade shows and conferences
  • Visit existing customers to discuss current programs and suggest new programs
  • Develop sales strategies for targeted markets
  • Coordinate efforts with inside sales staff to respond to new sales opportunities
  • Provide post trade show follow-up for select targets, including tracking new sales leads to progress the sales opportunity to next action step
  • Coordinate follow-up action steps including organizing and submitting sales proposals
  • Lead quotation process internally
  • Deliver quote/proposal and close the order
  • Sales Travel as required throughout Central / Eastern US and Canada including:
    • Represent the company at industry trade shows
    • Provide sales presentations to prospective clients
    • Conduct sales calls with existing clients to maintain client relationship

  • College degree or minimum 5 years’ experience selling technical products, machined parts, or services

  • Ability to read blue prints
  • Understanding of part joining processes, e.g. welding, brazing, shrink fitting

  • Proficient in Microsoft products (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Comfortable with the use of technology (videos, PowerPoint presentations, etc.) as an aid during customer discussions

Growth will be accomplished through prospecting, qualifying, and shaping new sales opportunities, assisting in responses for business development opportunities, and coordinating sales efforts with inside sales resources. While we are located in Michigan, this would be a home office opportunity with significant travel to visit customers (up to 3 or 4 days per week). Ideal candidate would be located close to a major airport in the Mountain or Pacific Time Zone.
